Rain

Steady rain: a soft wash with thousands of drops, a few close by.

This rain isn’t a recording. It is built in your browser from a bed of pink noise and thousands of short drops of different pitch, loudness and position, with a few larger ones nearby. Drops that cross the end of the loop carry on at its start, so there is no seam.

Rain has more texture than plain noise, which some people find easier to fall asleep to and others find distracting. If the drops pull your attention, pink or brown noise is the steadier choice.

Using it for a baby? Keep the phone across the room, not in the crib, at a low volume (why).
