Sound
Every sound is generated on your device, in your browser, when you pick it. No audio is downloaded or uploaded. noiseplz never uses your microphone and records nothing.
What’s stored
Your last sound, volume and timer are saved in your browser’s local storage on your device so they’re there next time. They never leave the device. Clearing the site’s data deletes them.
What isn’t
No accounts. No cookies. No tracking scripts, pixels or fingerprinting, and no third-party services in the page. After the page loads, the only network requests are checks for a new version of the app (when you come back to it, and hourly while it’s open) and one empty request the first time you press play after the page loads, so we can count how many people actually use it. That request carries nothing: no settings, no identifier. It isn’t sent again when you pause and resume, and if you’re offline it’s dropped, not saved for later.
Hosting
The site is served from a server rented from Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany. Like any web server, it receives your IP address and browser details to deliver the page. To count visits, the server keeps a request log: the time, the page requested, the page you came from, and your browser and device type. Your IP address is shortened before it is written (the last part of an IPv4 address and most of an IPv6 address are dropped), so the log can’t point to you or your device. The log is deleted after 30 days, is not shared with anyone, and is used only to see how many people visit and which pages they use. Hetzner may process network traffic data for security, such as protecting against attacks; see Hetzner’s privacy policy.
